Use Baby Steps and Ancient Wisdom to Achieve Self Reliance

By Jim Calhoun:

Those who are regular listeners know that I like using old axioms and sayings that have guided generations through living out our lives.

So, remember, Rome was not built in a day! I suggest that you put as many of the old axioms in the front of your mind to help guide you.

These old saying are not a quaint blast from the past, but are time tested powerful wisdom that may keep you and your family alive and safe.

There are hundreds of these sayings such as "A penny saved is a penny earned" "Let a sleeping dog lie" "Make hay when the sun shines" "A stitch in time saves 9"

There are hundreds of these gems of wisdom. You need to research and find as many as you can.

Do not stress about your progress or lack of,  just continue to do your best to move in the right direction.

Each week try to add something to your skill level. Even if it is simply studying. Things will come together at a nice stress free pace, which will benefit you in the long run.

When you go grocery shopping, buy several extra items to create an emergency food stash. Slow and steady will get you there if you make a habit of shopping a bit for tomorrow when you shop for today

.If you do not need it, do not buy it. Then take the money you did not spend and save it for a rainy day.

Learn how to care for and repair everything you own. Some things will be hard, others easy, but each month you will grow your own self reliant list.

We cannot count on outside help, so buckle down and learn how to help yourself.
